#CokeandMentos <br />This sceptical woman decided to check if the viral "Coke and Mentos" videos were "real" – with results that Reddit users found hilarious<br />A grandma filmed herself trying the "Coke and Mentos" experiment on TikTok – telling viewers that she needs to "check it's real".<br /><br />In the clip, that has now gone viral on Reddit, the woman – who calls herself "Grandma Sandy" – picks up a packet of Mentos and starts to unwrap them.<br />“You know, I’ve seen this done a couple of times on a couple of different videos and I’m not quite sure that it’s real and I just want to see what’s up,” she says.<br /><br />The Coca-Cola bottle makes a slight fizz when she unscrews the cap and opens it, but undeterred she pops three of the sweets in.<br />Just a split-second later, the eruption of carbon dioxide and Coca-Cola hits her straight in the face.<br /><br />She screams a frantic "Arghh!" before the video abruptly cuts out.<br /><br />The video has been viewed more than 20,000 times since it was first shared on Reddit a day ago, but people are divided as to whether it was a set-up or not.<br /><br />Meanwhile, on her sandybepsycho TikTok account, the clip has been watched nearly five million times.<br />"She 100% did that on purpose," said one person commenting on the video in the "watch people slowly die inside" sub-Reddit.<br /><br />But another viewer argued: "Dude there must be a drop cloth under her then. How could she just let that kind of mess loose on purpose my god man!"<br /><br />Sounding amused, another person wrote: "I mean... That's the kind of enthusiasm we need people to have for science."<br />
